Juventus Football Club chairman Andrea Agnelli, along with the football team’s entire board of directors, resigned late on Monday amid an investigation into alleged accountant wrongdoing related to the company’s last three-year financial filings. Juventus have appointed Maurizio Scanavino as their new chief executive officer (CEO).
The Bianconeri are being probed for suspicious transfers with inflated values to gain capital gains. Investigators looked into financial statements for 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Who is Maurizio Scanavino?
Maurizio Scanavino is the new CEO of Juventus. Born in 1973, holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Turin Polytechnic. He has worked in various sectors including consulting, automotive, and publishing with experience in Italy and abroad. After starting his career at Accenture and later in the development of digital and e-commerce services, he joined Fiat Group in 2004. He contributed to the relaunch of the company led by Sergio Marchionne as director of Brand Promotion with responsibilities of marketing and communication for the brands Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and Lancia.

In 2007 he entered the publishing unit of the group as director of the digital and marketing area of the publishing house of La Stampa, dealing in particular with product development and the digital portfolio. He became General Manager of the advertising agency Publikompass in 2010.

In 2013 he switched to Il Secolo XIX as CEO and following the subsequent merger with La Stampa Scanavino was appointed General Manager of the Itedi group. Subsequently, he leads the process of integrating Itedi with the Espresso Group, which leads to the establishment of the GEDI group, one of the big European publishing groups.

Currently, he holds the position of CEO and General Manager of GEDI Gruppo Editoriale, where he is committed to consolidating the position of Italian leader in digital transformation in the publishing sector, also through corporate acquisitions and targeted investments.
