Mukesh Choudhary dismissed Mumbai Indians’ opener Ishan
Kishan
, the most expensive buy in this year’s mega auction, for a
golden duck in the ongoing Indian Premier League match against
Chennai Super Kings at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Kishan, who
rejoined MI for Rs 15.25 crore, was bowled out in the opening over of MI’s
innings by Mukesh Choudhary. On the fifth delivery, Kishan failed to connect
with the swinging yorker and played the incorrect line as it took out the off
stump. Prior to his dismissal, opening partner and captain Rohit Sharma was also
dismissed on the second ball of the over.

Mukesh
Choudhary is on a roll in this match, returning in his second over to remove
South African teenage sensation Dewald Brevis for only four runs. CSK skipper
Ravindra Jadeja earlier won the toss and chose to bowl. After losing the toss,
Rohit stated that it was a “blessing in disguise.”

“The
surfaces have changed a bit from what we played in the first game. The teams
have won batting first here in the last 3-4 games, so it is a blessing in
disguise. We have made three changes. Riley Meredith is making his debut for
Mumbai, Hrithik Shokeen is an off-spinner and making his debut, Daniel Sams
comes back”, he said.

Mukesh
Choudhary, who was born 6 July 1996 is an Indian cricketer. He made his
first-class debut for Maharashtra in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy on 9 November
2017. He made his List A debut on 7 October 2019, for Maharashtra in the
2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He made his Twenty20 debut on 8 November 2019, for
Maharashtra in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

For the
uninitiated, the youngster was CSK’s net bowler last year, so the franchise was
well-versed in him. Choudhary had impressed senior franchise players with his
accurate line and length, so they backed the left-arm pacer, who could be
crucial for the franchise given Deepak Chahar’s absence.
