Fiji rugby star Josua Tuisova has made the heart-wrenching decision to continue competing in the Rugby World Cup in France despite the devastating loss of his seven-year-old son, Tito. The young boy’s passing was announced just days ago, casting a shadow over Tuisova’s participation in the tournament.

Tuisova, renowned for his powerful ball-carrying abilities, plays a pivotal role for the Fijian national team, who are on the cusp of reaching the knockout stages of the World Cup. Their potential quarter-final clash against England awaits, with Tuisova’s contributions crucial to their campaign.

Tragically, Tuisova received the heartbreaking news of his son’s death merely hours before Fiji’s dramatic 17-12 victory over Georgia in Bordeaux last Saturday. His father, Isikeli Ratulevu, conveyed the devastating news to him, revealing that Tito had succumbed to a long-standing illness.

Who was Tito?

Tito Micgabraph Donzel Ratulevu, affectionately known as “Tito,” was the beloved son of Mr. Josua Tuisova and Mrs. Katarina Ladoge Ramoce. His passing was the culmination of a prolonged battle with a debilitating illness, and he peacefully departed in Lautoka Hospital.

The funeral service, a poignant and somber occasion, took place at the Votua Catholic Church in the town of Ba. The ceremony was live-streamed, allowing family, friends, and well-wishers to pay their final respects to young Tito.
