Velocity exacted revenge on the Supernovas with a five-wicket win in the inaugural match of the 2020 edition of the Women’s T20 Challenge at Sharjah on Wednesday.
The two sides faced each other in the last year’s final, with the Harmanpreet Kaur led-Supernovas emerging victorious after beating the Mithali Raj-led side earlier in the tournament as well.
After winning the toss, the Supernovas were restricted to a total of 126/8 in 20 overs with Chamari Athapaththu scoring 44 runs from 39 balls.
However, a fifty partnership between Sune Luus (37*) and Sushma Verma (34) secured the win for Velocity.
