Tesla delivered 185,000 vehicles in first quarter of 2021: Report

US-based electric vehicle company Tesla produced 180,000 cars and delivered nearly 185,000 in the first quarter of 2021, according to the statement released by the company. It is more than what they produced in the span of three months.

The electric vehicles, which were produced by Tesla, were Model 3 sedans and Model Ycrossovers SUV’s. They also delivered 2,020 Model S sedans and Model X SUVs.

Tesla has been ramping up production as they missed Elon Musk goal of delivering 500,000 cars in the year 2020. As per the estimate compiled by FactSet till April 1, the estimated delivery range from 145,000, to 188,000.

Tesla wrote in the statement that “with new equipment installed and tested in Q1, the company is now in the early stage of ramping production for an updated version of S and X.”

Recently,  Elon Musk Tesla CEO said, “We have been able to bring forward the Plaid Model S and X- model S will be delivered in February and model X a little later.”

Musk added, “The Model S Plaid, we are actually in production now.”

In January 2021, Tesla announced the redesign of Model S and Model X, which added new powertrains, higher range option, and the landscape in-car display from the more popular model 3.

Both Tesla and Elon Musk have not yet announced their delivery goal of 2021, but in comparison to 88,400 cars they delivered in the first quarter of 2021, Tesla believes that they are starting on the right foot for their previous year’s goal of 500,000 cars.
