Bowling Green shooter found dead in apartment hours after El Zarape shooting in Ohio

An alleged suspect in a Bowling Green restaurant shooting was found dead after the SWAT team arrived at an apartment Monday shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to the Bowling Green Police Department.

According to the police, a person was shot at El Zarape in the 1600 block of E. Wooster around Monday morning at Bowling Green around 9:30 a.m. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the police, the victim was able to identify the shooter, and that led the officers to Ivywood Apartments on Clough Street, where the suspect’s body was discovered by the police. Neither the identity of the suspect nor the victim has been revealed by the police. However, it is known that the suspect is an adult male.

The apartment where the suspect was found dead was not far from El Zarape restaurant where an active shooter was reported. Heavy police presence was noted at the scene of the crime and the Bowling Green police eventually confirmed that there was no active threat to the public. After the Swat team surrounded the suspect’s apartment, multiple officers were seen pointing guns at the building. Officers were also heard yelling for someone to come out of an apartment.

El Zarape announced on their Facebook page that they are closed for the remainder of Monday and that all employees are safe.
