Donald Trump, on Saturday, addressed his first rally after the FBI’s raid at his Mar-a-Lago estate. While speaking in support of Republican candidates Dr. Mehmet Oz for the US Senate and Doug Mastriano for the gubernatorial post, the former US President said that President Joe Biden’s speech in Pennsylvania where he spoke about MAGA (Make America Great Again) being a semi-fascist ideology was one of the most divisive speeches by any US President. Trump also referred to a red light that was behind Biden while the latter was making his speech, and said that it made the 79-year-old “look like the devil”.

Biden, who had made his speech from Philadelphia’s Independence National Historical Park, criticized MAGA Republicans by saying that “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards. Backwards to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy, no right to contraception, no right to marry who you love”. He also said that American democracy was under threat and that people “…have to defend it. Protect it. Stand up for it.”

The speech came after his campaign speech at Rockville, Maryland where Biden said that MAGA Republicans refuse to respect the will of the people, choose political violence, and don’t believe in democracy

Trump hit back on Saturday by calling Biden “an enemy of the people”. He also opined that Biden’s statements were “vilifying, hateful, and divisive” to 75 million Americans. Besides Trump, other Republican leaders also attacked Biden for his speech. Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel had called the US President the country’s “divider-in-chief”.

In his speech, the former US President said that the upcoming midterm elections will be on “skyrocketing inflation”, “crushing gas prices”, and illegal immigrants. He also referred to the FBI raid at his Mar-a-Lago home as a travesty of justice. He called the FBI and the Justice Department “vicious monsters”.
