Google cancels April Fools’ Day for second time due to COVID-19

Tech giant Google has cancelled April Fools’ Day for the second consecutive year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to media reports. 

In 2020, Google had decided to put on hold a longtime tradition of celebrating April Fool’s Day due to the pandemic. According to the firm, the decision was taken in respect of the people fighting against the deadly virus. 

According to Business Insider, the company said that since a large part of the world is still suffering from coronavirus, the company has decided to stop the tradition of jokes on April Fools’ Day. 

The United States remains the worst affected country due to COVID-19 while cases in India are increasing at a rapid pace.
