Harry and Meghan interview: White House says the couple has ‘courage’

White House spokesperson Jen Psaki on Monday officially commented on the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle interview, which has been gaining immense popularity on the internet, and said the couple had “courage” for doing this. 

“For anyone to come forward and speak about their own struggles with mental health and tell their own personal story, that takes courage,” she said in a media briefing.

However, Psaki highlighted that the White House will not be providing any further comments on the situation of the couple since they are now “private citizens”. 

“We have a strong and abiding relationship with the British people and a special partnership with the government of the United Kingdom on a range of issues and that will continue,” Psaki reaffirmed in a diplomatic statement.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to their royal entitlements, Harry and Meghan discussed pressing and sensitive issues like racism, suicidal thoughts and the liability of following traditions on Sunday with Oprah Winfrey.
