Two Democrat candidates named Horn will contest different seats in the Oklahoma senate race this fall. Madison Horn, after winning the Democratic Senate race in the southern state, will go up against incumbent Republican Sen. James Lankford, this November.

The Cherokee Nation citizen defeated Jason Bollinger and had earlier had a falling out with her fellow party member over Bollinger’s petition to have Horn removed from the ballot paper.

“On a few occasions, we expressed our mutual respect for one another and reinforced the fact that we are allies and should not “throw mud” because Oklahomans deserve to see leaders who are above today’s political games. Then, he broke his word. My opponent filed false allegations in an attempt to defame me and my candidacy, putting into question his oath as an attorney. His actions have shown his true character and point to his insecurities about the viability of his own campaign”, she’d said in a press release, at the time.

She is not related to Kendra Horn, the former Democratic Rep, who will face GOP nominee Rep. Markwayne Mullin in a different senate race. This is for the seat that was vacated by GOP Sen. Jim Inhofe. This seat is considered to be safely Republican, and Mullin beat former state House Speaker T.W. Shannon to get on the November ballot.

He’s a staunch Donald Trump supporter and is sceptical of the current president Joe Biden. “It’s absurd to think that Joe Biden received more votes than any president in history. We have to fight to make sure every vote is counted accurately”, he said in a televised debate with Shannon.

Mullin made the news in 2021 when he tried to sneak into Afghanistan after the Taliban took over following US troop withdrawal. His plan was to help evacuate Americans stuck in Kabul and unable to get to the airport.
