This time around, The Weeknd, one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2020, is set to perform.

His latest album, ‘After Hours’ , launched in March 2020, features two platinum, US Billboard Hot 100 singles—“Heartless” and “Blinding Lights.”

Born as Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, The Weeknd, has risen from Youtube anonymity to one of the best-selling artistes in the world with his career spanning just a decade.

The music journalists have described ‘After Hours’ as an artistic reinvention for The Weeknd, complete with an aesthetic reminiscent of films like Casino, Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas, Joker and Uncut Gems, the latter of which included a cameo by The Weeknd.

The Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show will be providing  one of the first few global stages for The Weeknd to feature his album as his world tour of the ‘After Hours’ has been delayed to 2022 due to the pandemic.
