The 90’s famous rock band ‘The New Radicals’, the favourite band of Joe Biden’s late son, have agreed to reunite for a one-time performance at the Presidential inauguration ceremony on January 20, 2021.

The band’s famous song “You Get What You Give” gained incredible fame by reaching the top charts in New Zealand, Canada and the UK. The song also hit the top 40 list in the US before breaking up in 1999.

As mentioned in Joe Biden’s autobiography “Promise Me, Dad”, the Biden family embraced the song in difficult times. Beau Biden, who succumbed to brain cancer in 2015, was a fan of this song.

The lyrics of the song can be related by anyone who has suffered through hard times and sends a positive message of hope to the listener.

Harris’s husband, lawyer Doug Emhoff, chose it as his “walk-on” song for every public appearance during his wife’s 2020 campaign.

At the request of the Biden-Harris team, who is responsible for organising the Presidential inauguration, the New Radicals agreed to reunite after more than 20 years.

They will perform during Wednesday’s “Parade Across America,” a virtual celebration replacing the traditional inaugural parade because of the coronavirus pandemic and heightened security concerns, according to the organizing committee.

Gregg Alexander, the founder of the band, said to the Rolling Stone magazine, “If there’s one thing on Earth that would possibly make us get the band together if only for a day, it is the hope that our song could be even the tiniest beacon of light in such a dark time. America knows in its heart that things will get bright again with a new administration and a real plan for vaccines on the way. That’s the message of the so… This world is gonna pull through.”

The post-inauguration performances will be commenced by Lady Gaga singing the national anthem of the US followed by well-renowned celebrities like Demi Lovato, John Legend, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters and Justin Timberlake.
