In a major boost ahead of their critical clash against AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns have activated running back Kareem Hunt and Pro Bowl right tackle Jack Conklin from injured reserve. With two additions for Sunday’s game, their offence will be complete again.

Hunt has been out of the last five games due to a calf injury. Conklin has been sidelined with a dislocated elbow for the previous three weeks.

The Browns (6-5) have struggled to score, scoring 17 points or fewer in six of their last eight games, but one of their top playmakers and one of the NFL’s greatest tackles should help.

Despite missing nearly half of the season, Hunt ranks third on the team in scoring (five touchdowns) and fourth in catches (20).

When Conklin was wounded against Pittsburgh on Oct. 31, the Browns assumed he’d be out for months, not weeks. Conklin explained his injuries on Friday, stating that when he tried to brace his fall and was kicked, his elbow was pointing in the opposite direction.

Conklin’s return will only aid the Browns’ top-ranked ground game while also providing additional protection for quarterback Baker Mayfield, who is suffering with a variety of injuries.

The Browns have two games against the Ravens in three weeks, with a bye week in between.

The Browns also promoted defensive end Porter Gustin and return specialist JoJo Natson from the practice squad, in addition to Hunt and Conklin.

Hjalte Froholdt, a guard, and Joe Jackson, a defensive end, were both released.
