A series of earthquakes shook the northern Nevada region on Sunday night, leading some locals to feel uneasy on Sunday.

The initial earthquake, which had a preliminary magnitude of 3.4, occurred about three miles east of Spanish Springs at 6:50 p.m. on June 25.

Within minutes after the initial tremor, many minor aftershocks were felt throughout the Reno-Sparks region. Residents in the area might still feel the aftershocks, even though their intensity may have been lower.

Several towns and communities close to the epicenter may also have felt just very slight shaking as a result of the earthquake that struck near Spanish Springs in northern Nevada. Included in these is Sun Valley, which is 7 miles away and has a population of roughly 19,300 people. It’s possible that Sparks, which is 9 miles away and has a population of about 96,100, also felt some shaking.

Several Twitter users and local residents reacted to the earthquake in the Nevada region. One user tweeted, “This afternoon we had thunder, lightening, rain, hail, and an earthquake here in Northwest Nevada today.”

“Anyone else feel the earthquake in Reno or Sparks? 👀”, another user tweeted.

One user wrote, “A family member just texted me from Sparks, “I think we just had an earthquake!” Meanwhile, I’m in the basement in Ohio hiding from tornadoes. Mother Nature is a roll tonight.”

Fortunately, as of now, there have been no reports of any damage or injuries caused by the recent earthquakes in northern Nevada.
