The U.S. Department of Justice said, on Thursday, that two Florida residents have pleaded guilty to conspiring to traffic in stolen goods in exchange for selling President Joe Biden‘s daughter, Ashley Biden‘s diary and other personal effects.

Robert Kurlander, 58, and Aimee Harris, 40, both pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy and may face up to five years in jail time if convicted of the charge.

These are the first charges in a federal investigation into how the daughter Biden’s journal was traded to Project Veritas which is a far-right activist group based in America.

According to the New York Times, Harris obtained the diary in the months leading up to the 2020 US Presidential Elections and enlisted the help of her friend Kurdlander to contact Project Veritas, which agreed to pay $40,000 for it.

In November 2021, The FBI conducted an extensive investigation and raided the home of this activist group’s founder James O’Keefe.

According to Damian Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Damian Williams, “Harris and Kurlander stole personal property from an immediate family member of a candidate for national political office.”

“They sold the property to an organization in New York for $40,000 and even returned to take more of the victim’s property when asked to do so. Harris and Kurlander sought to profit from their theft of another person’s personal property, and they now stand convicted of a federal felony as a result,” the attorney added.

Following the hearing, both the Florida natives were released.
