Several social media users are now trolling RM Palmer.

“Was RM Palmer involved in that whole ring?? I thought Hershey, Nestle and Mars were the ring leaders in that whole ring??” a Twitter user said.

“Hershey is like 70 miles from here. And apparently cocoa powder can clog equipment if not cleaned properly. My guess? Somebody cut corners cuz the RM Palmer Candy Company (the one that exploded) is in their “seasonal rush” making Easter Candy,” a second one tweeted.

“Acknowledging the fact that the powerful explosion injured at least six people, I’m inclined to believe the cause of the blast was not due to the chocolate factory, but another factor,” a Twitter user said.

RM Palmer was founded in 1948 and about 850 people work there. Marty Palmer is the President and CEO of the company

“It has been a true pleasure to manage the Palmer Candy operation since joining at the age of 23. I am fortunate enough to be part of the fifth generation of Palmers actively owning and managing this amazing innovative company,” he is quoted on the website.
