After a major carbon monoxide leak incident in Allentown, Pennsylvania, more than two dozen children, and daycare employees had to be rushed to the hospital. The incident took place at Happy Smiles Learning Center in the 400 block of Wabash Street, every ambulance in Allentown responded to this call, fire captain John Christopher told WFMZ.

Authorities confirmed that a total of 27 people, including children, who were taken to four hospitals in the Lehigh Valley are all in stable condition.

The population of this city was registered as 125, 842 in the year 2020.
Allentown was founded in 1762 by William Allen, and it was initially called Northampton Town. Later on, in 1838 it was renamed Allentown to honour its founder and was also incorporated as a city.
Historically, Allentown had a major role to play in American Independence, as it was among the first to support the cause. It established a committee of observation in the year 1774. In the early 19th century, this city emerged as a hub for industrialization as significant numbers of mining and heavy manufacturing industries mushroomed here. The early 20th century saw the rise of the city as the hub for heavy manufacturing.
Unfortunately, the later part of the century saw a decline of industries in this area, which was depicted in Billy Joel’s single Allentown as well.
Allentown is one of the fastest-growing major cities in Pennsylvania. Popular actors Amanda Seyfried and Christine Taylor were born in this city.
