‘Where is FBI and National Guard?’ Social media users ask after an alleged left wing insurrection at Tennessee state capitol

The Tennessee State Capitol building on Thursday was stormed by several alleged gun control activists days after the Nashville school shooting. Social media users called on the FBI and the National Guard to take action against the protestors.

Since 8 AM local time on Thursday, hundreds gathered outside the Capitol in Nashville. They were rallying for gun control. The crowd could be heard chanting: “What do we want? Gun control! When do we want it? Now!”

Soon the protestors were trying to break into the building. Videos of the insurrection were posted to social media as city’s sheriff’s department attempted to control them.

Many Twitter users, who seem to be right-wingers, questioned federal agencies like the National Guard and the FBI about their lack of action. They compared the Tennessee protest to that of the US Capitol on January 6 2021.

“Far left taking over Tennessee state Capitol , Where is the investigation and where is the #FBI,” a Twitter user said.

“Call for the National Guard and start charging people as insurrectionist,” another one added. 

“Send in the National Guard. Who is in charge?” a third one said.
