Authorities said two of the three murder suspects who escaped from custody in separate incidents that happened throughout the nation in a four-day period were the targets of separate manhunts on Monday afternoon.

Authorities said one of the fugitives, 35-year-old Eric Abril, was captured on Monday afternoon not far from the hospital he fled from early on Sunday. Abril is accused in a Northern California murder and firefight with police.

Chadwick Shane Mobley, 42, has been named as the latest fugitive to get away. He is suspected of fleeing from authorities in Montana on Sunday while being transported to Michigan to answer for the 2011 murder of a 20-year-old woman who was discovered shot to death in the basement of a relative’s house, according to officials.

Abril, who was described by investigators as a “very dangerous fugitive,” was caught at 12:45 p.m. in a residential area of Rocklin, California, roughly 6 miles from the hospital he escaped.

Abril was arrested on April 6 after he allegedly killed one hostage and injured the other while holding two other people hostage in a park while donning body armor and engaging in an ambush. He was wounded during a shootout with law officials, according to the authorities, and was then taken into custody.

Abril was transferred to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center in Roseville, the facility he escaped from, on Thursday for an undisclosed medical problem, according to Placer County Sheriff Wayne Woo. A huge manhunt was already in progress for murder suspect Michael Burham, who was located more than 2,000 miles away in northern Pennsylvania, when Abril made his escape.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the 34-year-old Burham broke free from the Warren County Jail in Pennsylvania on Thursday night. Burham is a suspect in a murder and rape case in Jamestown, New York.
