Who is Creighton Waters?
Creighton Waters is the chief prosecutor for the state of South Carolina’s grand jury. He is currently the lead prosecutor of the Alex Murdaugh murder trial. He has reportedly worked for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office for more than 24 years.
According to Fox Carolina, Waters is known for successful prosecutions and has won state Grand Jury indictments on corrupt law enforcement officers, as well as the school district and county officials.
State grand jury chief prosecutor Creighton Waters has an annual salary of over $100,000, according to public records. SHS Trendz reports that his net worth is estimated to be $1 million.

Creighton Waters was born in 1971 and is 52 years old currently. The son of renowned consumer litigation and bankruptcy attorney Samuel Waters, Creighton grew up in Columbia’s Heathwood neighborhood.
He is an alumnus of the University of South Carolina. During his time there, he received his undergraduate degree first and later studied Law and graduated in the year 1996.
Before working for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office in 1998, Waters served as a two-year law clerk for the late S.C. Court of Appeals Judge Jasper Cureton, whom he regards as one of his main mentors.

After conducting investigations into narcotics activities in state prison systems, he recently achieved the successful conviction of more than 100 suspects. Waters has also handled significant white-collar cases including everything from criminal conspiracy around the nuclear project to misbehavior allegations against high-profile people.
Richard Alex Murdaugh is accused of the murders of his wife, Margaret Murdaugh, and their 22-year-old son, Paul Murdaugh on the night of 7th June 2021. The trial is being presided over by Judge Clifton Newman.
