Two years after their deaths, Maggie and Paul Murdaugh are still buried in temporary graves. Meanwhile, Maggie’s husband and Paul’s father, Alex Murdaugh, who is also a disbarred attorney, is presently on trial after being accused of brutally murdering two of his family members in cold blood outside the dog kennels at their home in Moselle.

The bodies of the wife and son of Alex Murdaugh are buried together at the Hampton Cemetery in South Carolina. It is just half an hour’s drive from the Colleton County Courthouse where Alex is currently being tried.

A cemetery worker told New York Post that the graves of Maggie, 52, and Paul, 22, still have not got any headstones as they are still delayed. However, it is unclear what that means. The photos taken by a Post photographer of the site show the graves surrounded by dead leaves and some fake flowers.

Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were killed back on June 7, 2021, on the property of the family’s sprawling 1,700-acre Moselle estate in Islandton, South Carolina. Apparently, it has been alleged that Alex killed his family members as a distraction from his mounting financial crimes. Prosecutors have painted him as a ruthless and drug-addicted criminal.

Alex has pleaded not guilty to the double homicide charges and said that he was the one who discovered the two dead and called 911. During his trial, he testified that while he made mistakes, lied to the authorities about his whereabouts that night, and had a drug problem, he did not kill his wife and son.

On Wednesday, the jury at Alex Murdaugh’s murder trial is slated to visit the family’s Moselle estate where they will get to see firsthand for themselves the crime scene where Maggie and Paul Murdaugh were killed.
