Rick Larsen is a US politician who has represented Washington‘s 2nd congressional district, since 2001. In the U.S. midterm primaries 2022, Larsen is running for re-election for against nine candidates. Five of them are from the Republican Party, and one Jason Call is from the Democractic Party itself. Additionally candidates that running are one each from Conservative Party, MAGA Republican Party, and an independent.

Rick Larsen was born on June 15, 1965 in Arlington, Washington, USA. He was raised in Arlington and studied at the University of Minnesota and Pacific Lutheran Universities before graduating with a master’s in public affairs. He formerly served as the Washington State Dentistry Association’s director of public affairs and as a lobbyist for the dental industry.

Larsen is a member of the Democratic Party. He was first to the office on January 3, 2001. He has been an incumbent Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Washington’s 2nd district ever since. Larsen is a member of both the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and the House Armed Services Committee.

The 65-year-old is pro-abortion and has voted against several bills that restrict abortion rights. Larsen is the co-chair of the bipartisan U.S.-China Working Group, which briefs and meets with academic, business, and political leaders from the U.S. and China to inform Members of Congress about U.S.-China issues. He has made nine trips to China. In order to help give American Arctic policy issues greater attention, Larsen also helped co-found the Congressional Arctic Working Group, a bipartisan group. On July 18, 2019, Larsen backed the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump.
