Robert Louis Singletary, the North Carolina accused of shooting four neighbors, including a 6-year-old girl and her father, was out on bail related to a previous arrest, according to jail records.

On Friday, he appeared in Florida court, where he was arrested after fleeing North Carolina. Singletary waived extradition and is being held without bond on a fugitive warrant.

Who is Robert Louis Singletary?

Robert Louis Singletary is accused of fatally shooting a six-year-old girl along with her parents after a basketball with which the child was playing went into his yard. He is 24 years old.

He was arrested in Tampa, Florida on Thursday. During his court appearance on Friday, he was asked whether he would sign the extradition waiver that would allow officials to shift him back to North Carolina, where the shooting took place two days earlier.

Singletary allegedly fired shots at children and their parents after they tried to retrieve the basketball.

Kinsley White, 6, was shot in her left cheek while her father, William White, was shot in the back when he rushed to her help. Kinsley’s mother, Ashley Hilderbrand, was shot in the elbow.

Authorities said, Singletary had also fired shots at another man but missed. He fled the state and surrendered to police in Tampa on Thursday.

Police are charging him with four counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill inflicting critical injury, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Previously, the 24-year-old had been out on bond after he was charged with attacking a woman with a sledgehammer last December.

The victim told investigators that Singletary has kept her inside his house for over two hours after the alleged attack during which he struck her in the back of the head with the weapon. He did not allow her to leave until she had cleaned up all evidence of the attack.
