A juvenile driver has been detained following accusations that he purposefully utilized a car to collide with at least one vehicle and a cyclist in Las Vegas. Tragically, the cyclist died as a result of the trauma.

The victim has been identified as Andreas Probst. The details of the 17-year-old accused have not been disclosed by police officials due to his age.

Who was Andreas Probst?

Andreas Probst was 64 years old. He was a retired police chief with 35 years of committed service to the justice system. Currently, the 17-year-old has been held on suspicion of being the cause of Probst’s tragic death. The teen was also allegedly involved in a number of vehicle thefts that had occurred earlier that morning, according to the police.

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the police officials asserted that the charges against the teen are expected to be upgraded to include an open murder court after investigators came through a video indicating the accident was intentional.

The 17-year-old teen was detained shortly after the incident and was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The video showing the youngster driving the car and what appears to be a deliberate collision with both a car and a bike has received a lot of attention on social media. It appears to have been captured by a front-seat passenger. The video has quickly spread online, generating a great deal of interest and anxiety.

Cycling enthusiast Andreas Probst, 64, died at the University Medical Center, according to the Clark County Coroner’s Office in Nevada.

The Metropolitan Police Department has received complaints that a young person operating a 2016 Hyundai Elantra was speeding carelessly, hit the back of a bicycle, and then fled the scene. A white ghost bike has been erected in honor of Andreas Probst to honor his love of cycling.

Andreas Probst and his spouse were due to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary next month.
