Who was D’Angleo Marquise Gracy?

D’Angelo Marquise Gracy was one of the victims in the tragic shootout at Rockingham County. He was from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and was only 22 years old. The other victim was a young 17-year-old boy from Harrisonburg. His name has not been revealed by the authorities yet. The news was addressed by the president of James Madison University (JMU) after it happened at an off-campus apartment complex early Saturday morning.

Jonathan Alger, the president of JMU, sent an email to the university community on Saturday afternoon saying, “Although they were not JMU students, they have connections with our local community and many across our campus will be impacted.”

Alger assured those teachers, staff, and students who could be “experiencing grief or other difficult emotions” that the university will be there for them and urged them to seek help from the JMU Counselling Centre, free telehealth support, and the Employee Assistance Programme.

Alger further mentioned that many students reside close to the scene of the crime and requested anyone who saw what occurred or has knowledge that could assist authorities to contact deputies.
