De’Arreis ‘DD’ Smith and Haeleigh Stamper, two Hancock High students, were killed in the St Louis, Mississippi mass shooting on Sunday. Cameron Everest Brand of Pass Christian has been identified as the suspect.
Smith was 18 years old and Stamper was 16. They were students at Hancock High School.

De’Arreis ‘DD’ Smith was a senior. He was going to graduate, as per Kecia Sams, who considered him family.
“De’Arreis Smith was an amazing soul, a loyal friend, brother and uncle. He was loved by many and will be missed so very much by his family.” Sams told Nola.com.
A GoFundMe account was set up to help the funeral expenses of Stamper. The organizer, Lille Smith, said: “Her beautiful smile would light the whole room up.”
Brand, 19 years old, was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of murder. He is in Mississippi jail. The motive for the shooting has not yet been determined yet. He was arrested at his home. St. Louis Municipal Court Judge Stephen Maggio has denied bail.
Four others were shot. One of them is in critical condition. Two of them are students of Bay High School.
Students were at a party at the home after Bay High School’s prom. Police said the six victims were injured by gunfire. All of them were between the age of 15 to 18.
