Adam Lambert, singer and songwriter, performed Tina Turner’s ‘I Can’t Stand the Rain’ on American Idol 2023 Top 12 episode on Sunday. The 41-year-old was praised on social media.

Fans were impressed with Lambert’s singing and outfit.

“Adam Lambert just has a way of connecting with people and in this case the contestants on #AmericanIdol,” a third one tweeted.

American Idol is running with its 21st season on ABC. Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie are judges and Ryan Seacrest returns as host. Adam Lambert, who was a contestant in Season 8, would be a mentor.

The show’s winner will be determined by television viewers through public voting. The one with the trophy will also get cash prize and a record deal with Big Machine Records. The show will also be available to watch on ABC’s official live streaming channel.

When asked by Variety in January 2023 about homophobia being the reason behind him not winning, Adam Lambert said: “Probably. But it was 10 years ago.”

After American Idol, he played Charlie in the movie Fairyland, which released on January 20, 2023. The singer sold more than three million albums and five million singles. He performed with Queen, and is a member of the iconic British band.
