A man from Slinger, Wisconsin, wanted in a child sex exploitation probe, died following an armed confrontation with Wisconsin State Patrol troopers. Authorities have revealed that the state troopers attempted to arrest him on Friday after the 41-year-old left his house, which is near Highway 60 and Parkway Drive.

“This started as an investigation that’s been going on for some time now in the Cudahy Police Department,” Lieutenant Tim Kemps of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

The identity of the man who died, has not been released by the police. According to the police, the investigators were waiting outside the man’s house to look for evidence. A neighbor of the man who died, said that she witnessed a federal officer carrying a bullhorn approaching the house. As per her, the Federal officer belonged to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and said they were executing a search warrant and ordered the man to come outside of his home with his hands raised.

However, the house was empty when the FBI agents arrived. Sometime after, two state troopers pulled over the man and said he aimed a firearm at them as the troopers approached his vehicle.

“Both troopers pulled their firearms, and one of the troopers fired one round into the vehicle, we believe missing the suspect. At that point, the suspect shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lieutenant Kemps said.

The police has revealed that the man was suspected of assaulting, exposing and creating pornography with children. While the identity of the man who died is not out, some reports suggest that he is a former resident of Cudahy, Wisconsin, and did not have a prior criminal record.

The two state troopers who stopped the man on the highway before he shot himself, has been sent on administrative leave. The Washington County Sheriff’s Department has now begun an investigation into the incident.
