“We’re done taking lectures on science from a party that tells us men and women, women are men, and the babies… and this is a fact, the babies can be killed even after birth,” Trump said.

He further referred to then-Virginia governor Ralph Northam’s 2019 interview where the Democrat allegedly promoted infanticide.

Northam had spoken about cases where a fetus might be nonviable, or severely deformed, and what might happen after birth. However, later his spokesperson clarified the “governor had ‘absolutely not’ been referring to the euthanasia of infants born after a failed abortion.”

Abortion has been a major issue to voters in the US, where a majority of Republican state legislators have openly endorsed the restrictive abortion laws.

Trump also promised to “ban men from participating in women’s sports.” His administration had banned transgender service members from joining US military, which President Biden overturned.
