Hoothoot is an avian Pokémon with a spherical body similar
to an owl. It possesses brown-colored feathers with a cream-colored belly. Its
features include a fan-like tail with three feathers, big red eyes, a tiny
pinkish beak, stubby wings, and a fan-like tail with three feathers. Black
rings around its eyes; the bottom rims of the rings feature three protrusions
that resemble gear teeth, while the higher rims have extensions that resemble
clock hands. Hoothoot’s feathers can get shaggy, and the protrusions on its
head droop. It has two pinkish feet with five clawed toes on each side.
It will, however, usually only stand on one foot at a time
and alternate between the two at rates that are too fast for the naked eye to
monitor. Every day, Hoothoot starts wailing at the same moment and tilts its
head in the same pattern. This capacity is due to a unique organ that detects
the rotation of the earth and allows it to keep time.
