Jean Castex named as new French Prime Minister by Macron

Jean Castex who had coordinated France’s virus reopening strategy had been named as the new Prime Minister by President Macron. Castex who replaced Edouard Philippe will be helming the process of forming the next government. 

Castex, who was serving as the mayor of Prades was recently given the task of planning the reopening of the country after the coronavirus induced lockdown in France.

Earlier today, Edouard Philippe had tendered his resignation after heading President Emmanuel Macron’s government for three years.
