Texas police have reported that a man was allegedly shot dead by his neighbour on Christmas day morning when one of them pulled out a gun during an ongoing dispute. The incident took place at an apartment on Larkspur Drive.
At the time of the incident, San Antonio police had received multiple calls that shots had been fired before they could arrive at the scene of the crime. Upon arrival at the North Side residence, the cops were shown where the 24-year-old had been shot dead. They were also informed that the shooter was in the apartment next door.

Reports suggest the two had been long involved in some dispute, though no light has been shed on what they were fighting over. However, the matter escalated when the 28-year-old brandished the gun. While the victim died on spot, the man who allegedly shot his neighbour, surrendered and has been taken into police custody.

At the moment, neither his identity nor the charges he is facing have been divulged. While the police are continuing to investigate the matter, it should be noted that Gun Violence Archive, a database collating information on US shootings, has reported 29 deaths due to firearm discharge on Christmas day, 2021.

It also indicates that 158 people in San Antonio have succumbed to gunshot wounds from January 1 to December 26, 2021. Notably, this fatal incident has occurred on the heels of a tragic case in Missouri on Christmas Eve, where a two-year-old accidentally discharged a gun he was holding, dying in the process.

Initially, the cops had been misled while trying to investigate the child’s death. They were told that the boy was gunned down fatally, in a drive-by. However, further examination uprooted this lie. A person of interest in the Missouri case fled the home, but police believe he crashed his vehicle nearly four miles away from the house and continued on foot.
