Prince Harry was not allowed to wear his military uniform or robes at King Charles’ Coronation held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6. In the meantime, King Charles’ younger brother, Prince Andrew was allowed to wear the royal robes during the ceremony.
The discrimination between the two princes did not go down well with Prince Harry’s fans, who took to social media to voice out their outrage.

The rule for the two princes was the same during Elizabeth II’s funeral last September. Charles’ youngest son and Prince Andrew wore morning suits for the occasion. However, that did not appear to be the case this time. Apparently, Charles permitted both of them to wear the uniform at the time “as a special mark of respect” at the final vigil for the late Queen.
The Duke of Sussex, who has served in the Army for a decade and did two tours of Afghanistan was not allowed to wear a military outfit or royal robes during the ceremony because Harry is no longer a working royal.

He also reportedly made no specific requests concerning his outfit for the Coronation and instead was willing to wear whatever was asked of him, according to Telegraph.
Prince Andrew, on the other hand, has been permitted to wear the elaborate Knight of the Garter robes for the coronation of his brother, following his disastrous BBC interview in 2019 and Virginia Giuffre sexual assault case settlement last year. Andrew has been stripped of his royal roles and many of his military associations. However, he remains a Vice Admiral for his service in the Royal Navy.
For the coronation, he was dressed in velvet Knight of the Garter robes.
