Nihama Chipada, a tourist who had been
exploring Philippines had a life threatening encounter at a theme park. The man
mistook the crocodile to be a life sized model and climbed inside a pool in
order to capture pictures of the 12 foot reptile from a short distance.
However, Nihama soon came to the realisation that the crocodile was a real one
and not a life sized model when the reptile lunged his arm and dragged him into
the water.

As per The Mirror, the incident took place
when Nihama Chipada was roaming around the Amaya View amusement park in Cagayan
de Oro City in the Philippines on November 10.

The man’s intention was to grab a selfie with the
‘life sized model’ crocodile when the reptile grabbed his left arm and ended up
dragging him into the water while Nihama’s family members watched the horrific
incident along with several other bystanders.

A video of the same was captured by a Facebook

been doing rounds on the internet.

As per the Daily Mail, Nihama was able to break
free and escape with photos of him in a distressed state with his left arm
bleeding and bandaged shared on social media platforms. He was taken to the
Northern Mindanao Medical Center where his arm was operated upon and now, he is
in the recovery phase.

The family blamed the zoo for the incident and
alleged that Nihama would never have gone near the crocodile had there been any
signs around the amusement that warned him against performing his actions.

However, the allegations were rubbished by the
amusement park in an official statement published on their Facebook account and
said they would extend Chipada financial assistance with the medical bills.

Amaya View Chief Operating Officer Candy
Unabia told the Daily Mail, “They
said they thought the crocodile was also artificial, but that area is actually
restricted. There are signages and constant reminders from our tour guides,”
