Marjorie Taylor Greene, a far-right US congresswoman, has had her personal account on Elon Musk’s Twitter reactivated after it was suspended in January for breaking the platform’s COVID misinformation standards at the time.

Greene’s account was resurrected after Musk over the weekend restored that of former President Donald Trump, who had been suspended following the deadly Capitol rioting of January 6, 2021. At the time, Twitter felt that if Trump remained on the site, there would be a chance of more encouragement to violence.

Though he hasn’t tweeted since the reinstatement as of Monday, Trump himself has stated that he won’t use Twitter again. However, he hasn’t deactivated his account either.

Musk decided to reinstate Trump on the platform based on a skewed Twitter poll he published on his timeline. There didn’t seem to be a similar survey for Greene’s story. Prior to creating a “content moderation council” with a range of perspectives, Musk stated he would delay making significant decisions regarding material or restoring banned accounts.

Musk has frequently expressed his belief that Twitter had become too restrictive. Before the U.S. midterm elections this month, he urged his “independent-minded” Twitter followers to vote Republican.

One account Musk has said he won’t allow back on Twitter is that of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who was banned in 2018 for abusive behavior.

“My firstborn child died in my arms. I felt his last heartbeat,” Musk tweeted Sunday in response to calls for Jones’ reinstatement. “I have no mercy for anyone who would use the deaths of children for gain, politics or fame.”
