Geoff Diehl, a Republican, is contesting the primary elections in Massachusetts and running for the governor’s office. His main challenger is Chris Doughty, whose campaign is largely based on providing affordable living conditions for working families.
Geoff Diehl, 53, has been backed by former US President Donald Trump. This has boosted Diehl’s chances of winning the primary round and securing a spot in the upcoming midterm elections.

Who is Geoff Diehl?
Geoff Diehl was born in 1969 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He attended Lake Forest Academy and at the age of 16, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which is the highest achievement in Boy Scouts of America. In 1992, he graduated from Lehigh University with a Bachelor’s degree in government and urban studies.
Diehl kicked off his career in New York City by working in the advertising industry. He later worked in television production in Los Angeles, California. In 2001, he moved to Whitman, Massachusetts, where he worked as a business development executive.
He started his first official campaign in 2010 as a State Representative of the 7th Plymouth District. Diehl defeated Allen McCarthy in the elections and took office in 2011.
Before he entered politics, Diehl served as a member of the Whitman Finance Committee. He continues to be a member of the South Shore and MetroSouth Chambers of Commerce and is a former member of the Whitman Finance Committee and By-Law Review Committee.

He is married to KathyJo Boss, who runs a performing arts school, Boss Academy. The two met in New York. The couple has two daughters, Kaylee and Emily.
In 2011, he was recognized as an ‘Emerging Leader’ by the State Legislative Leadership Foundation (SLLF). In 2012, Geoff Diehl was elected to serve as an Alternate Delegate to the Republican National Convention, representing the 8th Congressional District.
