A British man named Jake Marlowe is currently missing following an attack by Hamas on a music festival in Israel, according to information provided by the country’s embassy in the UK to Sky News.

Who is Jake Marlowe?

Marlowe, 26, has not been in contact with anyone since Saturday morning.

The embassy indicated that Marlowe is “missing near Gaza” in the aftermath of the festival attack, which occurred in southern Israel. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is reportedly engaged in assisting the families of several individuals in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

According to Marlowe’s mother, her son was working as part of the security team at the dance festival located near Re’im, a village in close proximity to the Gaza border. She recounted receiving a phone call from him at 4:30 a.m., during which he described rockets flying overhead. Subsequently, at around 5:30 a.m., he sent a text message indicating that the signal was very poor, but he assured her that everything was okay and that he would keep her updated. The text message concluded with an expression of love.

Jake Marlowe had been residing in Ma’alot, northern Israel, for the past two years, indicating that he had made a permanent move to the country.

Witnesses at the festival described how the music was interrupted by air raid sirens, followed by an attack by Hamas militants, adding to the harrowing events of the day.
