Sonu Sood‘s action scenes in the upcoming film ‘Acharya’ had to be altered since producers were concerned that the public would not enjoy Chiranjeevi thrashing him.

During the last two years, when cinemas were mostly closed, actors in the entertainment industry used social media platforms to share daily routines, film promotions and vlogs and how their workout routines had shifted away from their gyms, but Sonu Sood found a way to use his clout for the good of the people. During the height of the pandemic, the actor transformed into a philanthropist, providing transportation, oxygen, medical supplies, and anything else that was needed.

‘Acharya’, starring Chiranjeevi, will be released in theatres on April 29. The film stars Ram Charan and Pooja Hegde and is directed by Koratala Siva. This will be the first time Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan appear in a full-length film together. Chiranjeevi has previously appeared in Ram Charan‘s Telugu film Bruce Lee: The Fighter.

Sonu had previously stated that since the outbreak, he has been cast in a variety of roles as his image has altered. During the lockdown, his altruistic endeavours converted the actor who used to play the evil.

Sonu stated in an interview with Indian Express, “I feel it is very difficult to see myself” (in a negative role). All of the producers, directors, and writers have stated that they can no longer picture or imagine me as a negative character. I remember starting work on two films before Covid-19, one of which was Acharya. And they had to alter a few scenes a little bit.”

He went on to say, “Like, in the action parts, Chiranjeevi sir wasn’t sure if beating me would be approved by the audience.” So, certainly, people are thinking about it a lot. Even the screenplays that are being sent to me are all for good parts. So there will be a second inning.”

Sonu Sood has stated that ‘Acharya’ will be “a special film in my career.” Sood responded, “My mother,” when asked who his Acharya is in his life. She was my instructor. She instilled in me the importance of life values. She showed me the importance of giving back to society and riding on the hard work you have put in. She taught me that “positive intentions and prayers work wonders in getting what you want.”

‘Acharya’ tells the story of a middle-aged Naxalite-turned-social reformer who takes on the Endowments Department over the theft and embezzlement of temple funds and donations. The film also included a cameo appearance by Kajal Aggarwal, but it was cut because director Siva thought he wasn’t doing respect to a heroine of her calibre.
