Sonu Sood, who is currently being surveyed by the Income Tax Department of India in relation to a real-estate deal and alleged tax evasion, is an actor, film producer, model and philanthropist. He works prominently in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.

Sonu Sood made his acting debut with Tamil language films with Kallazhagar in 1999. The actor then appeared as an antagonist in the Telugu film Hands Up! in 2000. Sood made his Bollywood debut in 2002 with the Hindi language film Shaheed-E-Azam in which he starred as Bhagat Singh.

Since then, Sood has featured in several Bollywood movies like Dabangg, Jodha Akbar, Yuva, Ashiq Banaya Aapne and many more. 

The actor rose to massive prominence in 2020, when he helped thousands of migrant workers get home from cities during the nationwide COVID-19 induced lockdown. The actor is hailed as “the hero of India” for his continuous pandemic relief work and humanitarian aid.

In July 2020 he arranged a chartered flight to bring home over 1,500 Indian students stranded in Kyrgyzstan, flying them from Bishkek to Varanasi and has been helping people with education, medical relief and other monetary aid via social media requests.

The actor has since announced various initiatives like “SANKALP ‘ to provide free education to law students and is offering scholarships to IAS aspirants.

Sood has also helped people build homes, provided smartphones to underprivileged students for online classes and aided hundreds of NEET students reach their exam centres from flood and pandemic affected areas.

Sonu Sood has also founded the Sood Charity Foundation dedicated to the memory of her late mother “to help people of all stature.”

He has also recently joined Special Olympics Bharat as its brand ambassador.  

Sood is married to a Telugu woman Sonali Sood and shares two kids, Ishant and Ahaan Sood, with her. The actor’s net worth as of 2021 is Rs 130 crores.

Presently, the Dabangg actor is being surveyed by the IT Department, which has raided six of his in Mumbai and Lucknow in an alleged tax evasion probe.

Sood, who enjoys a massive fan base due to his humanitarian work and acting skills, is receiving tremendous support on social media following the Income Tax probe.
