Windows 10 bug causing internet connectivity issues, confirms Microsoft

Microsoft has fixed several bugs for Windows 10 through the May 2020 update but one particular issue still remains and has been finally acknowledged by Microsoft.
The company has acknowledged that Windows 10 version 2004 displays false internet connection warnings for some PCs, as per a report by Microsoft Latest.
Users have been complaining that despite rebooting their laptops, resetting the router and even reinstalling network wireless adaptor, Windows 10 keeps showing notification of ‘No Internet Access’, with the dreaded yellow triangle appearing on the system tray.
Despite the notification, users can go online. However, they cannot access certain features, such as Cortana, Microsoft’s Feedback hub, Microsoft Store and apps like Spotify. This is because they rely on Windows 10’s internet status to reach the servers.
Microsoft has confirmed that there is an issue with the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI).
“Customers are reporting “no internet” access in the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) on Windows 10 2004 devices, on devices that in fact can ping internet resources or browse web sites with internet browsers,” it noted.
The company has taken cognizance of the issue and will fix it in its future updates.
