Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar to star in ‘Bachchan Pandey’

Actor Arshad Warsi has joined Akshay Kumar-starrer “Bachchan Pandey”, the makers announced on Saturday.  An action-comedy,  the film will feature Kumar as a gangster aspiring to be an actor. Warsi, best known for his role in “Munna Bhai”, will play the superstar’s friend. 

The makers were looking for someone who could “match Akshay’s comic timing” and they narrowed down on Arshad who, “over the years, has aced this space”.

“It’s a first time pairing for the actors. His (Arshad’s) track is integral to the narrative, with multiple shades and a special look,” the makers said in a statement.

Directed by Farhad Samji (‘Housefull 4’) and produced by Sajid Nadiawala, the movie will also star Kriti Sanon, as a journalist who wishes to be a director.
