‘Dont deserve media trial’: Shilpa Shetty speaks out on Raj Kundras arrest

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty said on Monday that her husband Raj Kundra’s
arrest
in the porn film case did not deserve a media trial. The Bollywood actor
also underscored her faith in the judiciary and Mumbai police.

Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested for allegedly producing and
distributing pornographic content.  

Four employees of Raj Kundra have reportedly turned witnesses against him
and are said to have told the police that they were asked to delete the clips,
reports NDTV.

On Monday, Shilpa Shetty took to Instagram to post a note where she said, “As
a family, we are taking recourse to all our available legal remedies. But, till
them I humbly request you as a Mother — to respect our privacy for my children’s
sake and request you to refrain from
commenting on half-baked information without verifying the veracity of the same.”

The 46-year-old film star said,
“People have put their faith in me and I’ve never let anyone down. So, most
importantly, I request you to respect my family’s and ‘my right’ to privacy in
these times. We don’t deserve a media trial. Please let the law take its
course. Satyamev Jayate.”

“Reiterating my philosophy of,
as a celebrity ‘Never complain, never explain’. All I will say is, as it’s an
ongoing investigation, I have full faith in Mumbai Police and the Indian
judiciary,” Shilpa, who has been in Bollywood for nearly 29 years said.

Earlier, the actor had
reportedly told the police
that she
was not aware of the exact content on ‘Hotshots’ mobile app, through which her
husband, Raj Kundra, allegedly streamed pornographic content, news agency ANI,
quoting Mumbai Police sources. Shilpa also claimed that her husband Kundra was
innocent and that his brother-in-law, London-based Pradeep Bakshi, was involved
with the app and its functioning.
