As per the synopsis of Marvel’s Hawkeye series on Disney+, Clint Barton, one of the founding members of Avengers, is no longer an Avenger, hinting at Jeremy Renner’s exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel Studios plans to introduce the viewers to countless new faces such as the Eternals, Ironheart, Ms Marvel, She-Hulk among others.

Hulk and Hawkeye are the only original Avenger members left, with one of the original Avenger members is old, while the other one is wandering through the galaxy with the Guardians.

Marvel Entertainment released the official trailer of ‘Hawkeye’ on Monday. Marvel Studios shared the following synopsis of the upcoming television miniseries, “Former Avenger Clint Barton has a seemingly simple mission: get back to his family for Christmas. Possible? Maybe with the help of Kate Bishop, a 22-year-old archer with dreams of becoming a Super Hero. The two are forced to work together when a presence from Barton’s past threatens to derail far more than the festive spirit.”

After losing his family to the Blip in the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, Barton’s exit from the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not that surprising.

Barton had turned into Ronin, his alter ego, a killer who violently dispatched criminals. Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) was able to bring Barton back to fight Thanos, and his time as an Avenger had come to a close.

In the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) is called just ‘Hawkeye’, not ‘Lady Hawkeye’ or ‘Ms Hawkeye’. Over the course of six episodes, Barton and Bishop often squabble over their name. Barton will likely train Bishop on how to be a true hero and by the end, she may take his place.

Now, this does not necessarily mean that Clint Barton will never show up as ‘Hawkeye’ again. As long as Barton comes out alive this season he can play a cameo or a supporting role.
