Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story is executively produced by co-creators Murphy and Ian Brennan. Paris Barclay, Carl Franklin, and Janet Mock are series directors. Is it based on a true story?

Based on a true story, the limited series is unique from other true crime shows. It portrays Dahmer’s gruesome crimes from the victims’ perspectives, rather than the perpetrator’s point of view.  The series also focuses on the Wisconsin Police Department, which was accused of systemic racism during the investigation. This is believed to have allowed Dahmer to continue his killing spree.
