Jharkhand is the state where Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the revamped Baba Baidyanathdham Temple. Baidyanath Jyotirlinga temple, also commonly referred to as the Baidyanath Dham, is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga in Deoghar Jharkhand and is considered to be the most sacred abode of Lord Shiva. Along with the main temple of Baba Baidyanath, there are also 21 other temples surrounding it.
This Dham is also important site because it is one of the 51 Shakti Peeths in India. This temple hold significance as the heart of Mata Sati had fallen and thus it is also known as Hridaypeeth.
The famous Shravani Mela is also held every year in this place and lakhs of Shiva devottes walk from Sultanganj to Deoghar to worship Shiva.
According to different Sanskrit texts, Baidyanath Dham is also refered to as Haritaki Van and Ketaki Van.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurated both the Baidyanath Temple and the Deoghar airport.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation also tweeted about the newly-built Deoghar airport and focused on how it will give a big boost to Baba Baidyanath Dham-centric tourism in Jharkhand region. “The newly constructed airport at #Deoghar is a big boost to Baba Baidyanath Dham-centric tourism in the region. Jharkhand’s second airport after Ranchi will add to the prosperity of the state”.
