‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Part 2 had its share of iconic moments, but one that fans will remember for a long time to come is Eddie Munson belting out Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets’ on his BC Rich guitar.
Joseph Quinn played the fan-favourite president of the Hellfire Club, who goes from suspected murderer on the run to full-blown hero, as he along with Dustin decide to distract the bats in Upside Down, giving Steve, Nancy, and Robin a chance to take down Vecna.

Eddie gets atop his trailer and performs the iconic metal track, which has catapulted Metallica’s ‘Master of Puppets’ back into mainstream conversation. The band recently performed the song at a concert in Prague, and their video on Instagram has many fans welcoming a younger generation to Metallica’s music.
In another post, band bassist Rob Trujillo, whose son actually played the riffs for the Netflix series, can be seen sporting a Hellfire Club tee – in a nod to the Dungeons and Dragons-playing group in ‘Stranger Things’.
The band also decided to film a video of themselves playing the song, alongside a clip where Eddie strums his guitar in the most metal ever concert. They’ve captioned it ‘For Eddie’, in an obvious nod to Munson’s dedication ‘For Chrissy’ before he began playing.
Quinn’s character was referring to the Hawkins High School cheerleader who was killed in his trailer by Vecna, causing the town to suspect Munson of murder due to a Dungeons and Dragons-fuelled paranoia that gripped the US in the 1980s.

Metallica isn’t the only band whose music has gained new followers due to ‘Stranger Things’. Kate Bush, the British singer, has also become part of the mainstream conversation after her song ‘Running up the hill’ featured prominently in a scene where Sadie Sink’s Max resorts to it to break Vecna’s grip on her mind.
