For Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, popularity, particularly after a long court battle, comes with a dash of imposters.

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery, but Johnny Depp is far from flattered by people pretending to be him on the internet.

In a lengthy note uploaded on his Instagram story, which has now been included in a story highlight titled ‘PSA’, the 59-year-old wrote, “I’ve been made aware that there are fake accounts pretending to be me or people working with me.”

“I do not have any private or side accounts on any platforms. These are the only pages run by me and my team where we share updates and communicate,” he added, mentioning his official social media handles.

“I ask that you remain cautious as it seems these fake accounts can be relentless. My team is working to combat the problem. Thank you for your continued support and for making me aware of this issue! Love & respect, JD X,” Depp wrote.

Depp has been the internet’s hot topic ever since he won his defamation trial against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star has been celebrating his legal victory by touring overseas with musician Jeff Beck and occasionally making appearances on the streets and pubs of Newcastle, England.

Meanwhile, Heard was recently spotted shopping at a discount store in the Hamptons. The 36-year-old star, who is reportedly “broke” because she owes Depp $10.4 million, was seen pushing a cart inside TJ Maxx.

A source close to Heard revealed that the ‘Aquaman’ actor, who has “nothing to lose”, is considering the idea of writing a “revenge” book to share her ordeal.

“Amber considers her career in Hollywood over. She’s already in talks and is excited about it,” a source told OK! magazine.
