The Weeknd’s new album ‘Dawn FM’ to release on Friday

The Weeknd‘s new album, ‘Dawn FM,’ will be dropping on Friday and will include collaborations with Jim Carrey, Lil Wayne  Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, and Oneohtrix Point Never. 

The 31-year-old Canadian singer made the announcement on Monday along with a teaser in which he explores a new, unfamiliar world.

“A new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd,” text on the video reads.

The clip closes with a voiceover saying, “You are now listening to 103.5: Dawn fm. You’ve been in the dark for way too long, it’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms.”

The announcement comes two days after he shared a screenshot of text messages between him and his creative director, XO La Mar Taylor, on Instagram where the two chatted about the album.

“Happy New Year brother! What we thinking ??” Taylor asked.

“Happy new year! Everything feels chaotic again. Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO,” the singer replied.

‘Dawn FM’ is The Weeknd’s first full-length release since his blockbuster “After Hours,” which released in March 2020. He, however, dropped several multiple songs, remixes and has also co-wrote the forthcoming HBO series “The Idol.”

The singer is also scheduled to embark on a tour this summer, traveling to North America, South America, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The dates have not been announced.
