Twitter meltdown | K-Pop songs distributed by Kakao M removed by Spotify

Record label and K-Pop distributor Kakao M has had a fall out with Spotify, resulting in all artists and K-Pop songs under the label being removed from the music streaming platform.

Upcoming and emerging artists under Kakao M are expected to suffer the most as Spotify has been known to provide good exposure to them, reports local media.

Artists who are going to be affected by the ban include SEVENTEEN, MAMAMOO, The Boyz, Cosmic Girls, IU, GFRIEND, and Apink among others. 

Fans globally are heartbroken and deeply miss listening to their favourite songs on Spotify.

Distributed music by Kakao M was not available on Spotify when it was launched locally in Korea. People from around the world cannot listen to or access any of Kakao M’s music on Spotify either.
