Singer Billie Eilish honored late drummer Taylor Hawkins while performing at The Forum. The show, which took place on December 15, was a part of Eilish’s Happier Than Ever- The World Tour in support of her sophomore album Happier Than Ever, released in 2021.

The hitmaker invited Dave Grohl, member of Foo Fighters, the rock band Hawkins was a part of up until his death. The two shared the stage to perform an acoustic duet of Foo Fighters My Hero.

This is not the first time Eilish has honored the late drummer’s legacy, as she could be seen donning a shirt with Hawkins’ picture on it during her Grammy performance earlier this year.

Eilish invited Grohl on stage, as the crowd cheered loudly for him. Grohl said, “I have to say, earlier this year all of Foo Fighters and our families gathered together at my house to watch the Grammys and when Billie came out for her performance in a Taylor Hawkins T-shirt, the room was filled with real tears of love and gratitude. From our families who are here tonight — the Hawkins family and everyone would like to thank you very much for that.”

“So, let’s sing it for Taylor,” Grohl added. “This song’s called ‘My Hero,’ it sounds like this…” From there, the two launched into a heartfelt version of “My Hero.”

In Hawkins’ illustrious career of 25 years, he had left a mark on the music industry. Hawkins unexpectedly died just when Foo Fighters was set to perform in Bogotá, Colombia, at the Festival Estéreo Picnic on March 25, 2022. Emergency responders received reports of a patient with chest pain at a hotel in the north of the city.

No cause of death was given immediately, but the following day reports saying that ten substances present in Hawkins’ body surfaced, providing some closure to the reasons that eventually culminated in his death.

Tributes were poured in for the late singer, with his colleagues honoring his accomplishments in the music industry. “He was a kind brilliant man and an inspirational mentor to my son Rufus and the best friend one could ever have,” said Roger Taylor, The Queen drummer.
